Vaccines
Vaccines reduce risks of getting a disease by working with bodys natural defences to build protection. Through research and breakthrough technology we now have vaccines that can prevent more than 20 life-threatening disease.
Vaccines in real sense are “lifesaving”. It is estimated that immunization prevents 2-3 million deaths every year from diseases like diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, influenza and measles. Primary healthcare policies across world provide for vaccines yet there are gaps in some parts of the world.
Despite tremendous breakthrough, it is estimated that far too many people – 20 million, have insufficient access to vaccines. In some countries the progress made has either stalled or getting worse. The risk to undermine the past achievement is real.
Immunization is an indisputable human right in 21st century.
